A bit about me

Technologist by trade, community volunteer by choice, and a maker of daft wee games whenever there’s an hour spare.

I’m a Chartered IT Professional with over 20 years in the industry, working at the messy seam where business problems meet the systems meant to solve them. My patch spans strategy, architecture, delivery and governance, and getting people to actually adopt the thing once it ships, which is usually the hard part.

Day to day I lead digital & technology at CAN Group, with overall accountability for IT across the business and a cross-functional team of support professionals and developers. Before that I spent years consulting for organisations from SMEs to FTSE 100s. If you want the full career history, it lives on LinkedIn.

Away from the day job I do a bit of voluntary community work: the kind of unglamorous local graft that quietly keeps a place ticking over. I also volunteer as an assessor for BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT.

And then there are the games. I like building small, self-contained browser games: quick to play, daft on purpose, usually born from a joke that got out of hand. They’ve got their own page. Have a go.
